LUBROLENE SERIES OF WATER-FREE DIE RELEASE AGENTS

Diecasters can make truly significant savings by switching to the Lubrolene WFR series of water-free die release agents – up to 85% of the total running costs of die cast machinery (typical 800 ton) when applied by an electrostatic spray.

The impressive savings arise principally because Lubrolene WFR can be applied at far higher temperatures (380°C to 420°C) than conventional water-based lubricants which are only effective between 150°C and 250°C.

As a result Lubrolene WFR produces far less thermal stress on the die mould (compared to conventional die release agents) which in turn significantly extends the die-life, producing substantial savings in overall costs.

In addition only a tiny volume of lubricant is used, reducing costs. Cycle times are shorter, improving efficiency, and the quality of parts produced is better because there is less risk of porosity and water staining.

The Aoki Science Institute of Japan, which developed the oil-based die lubricant, has granted sole European distribution rights to Ultraseal International, the global leader in vacuum impregnation and porosity sealants.

The institute also took the technology to another level with its electrostatic spray application of Lubrolene’s WFR-EC series that was a world first.

Electrostatic spraying is especially suited to the casting of complex parts as it creates a “wraparound effect” with the electric field attracting the spray to the far side and more remote surfaces of the die mould.
