The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey, invited to the signing of an LOI between HH2E AG and WISTA Management GmbH in the Red City Hall. The plan is to build a hydrogen power plant.
In the LOI, Alexander Voigt (co-founder and board member of HH2E) and Roland Sillmann (managing director of WISTA Management GmbH) agreed to transfer parts of the land in the CleanTech Business Park Marzahn to HH2E AG.
The LOI refers to a total area of 50,000m² in the CleanTech Business Park Berlin-Marzahn (CBP), with 90 hectares the largest contiguous area for manufacturing companies in Berlin, according to the company. An HH2E plant is to be built here, which from 2027 could generate heat to supply adjacent businesses and apartments from hydrogen produced on site.
Franziska Giffey:
"We need to transform our energy generation and storage in large part to make the energy transition a success. This requires significant transformation efforts. Finding suitable sites to build new technologies is a major challenge in a metropolis like Berlin. I am pleased that this has been successfully achieved at the CleanTech Business Park Marzahn.
The HH2E plant planned there produces green hydrogen, from which electricity and heat can be generated. This could supply 30 percent of all Berlin households connected to the district heating network with hot water. In addition, around 120 new jobs are to be created. With the agreement adopted today, we are taking a major step toward an innovative climate-neutral city. I thank all those involved for their commitment."
Hydrogen to heat surrounding area
Alexander Voigt, co-founder and board member of HH2E, said:

There are projects in Berlin, such as the Urban Tech Republic at the former Tegel Airport or the CleanTech Business Park Berlin-Marzahn, to which we can make an important contribution with our technology and know-how in the field of green energy."
Roland Sillmann, Managing Director of WISTA Management GmbH:
