The Fehrmann Tech Group based in Hamburg and the Armstrong Group from Singapore have plans to use artificial intelligence to work together to develop innovative solutions based on foams, elastomers and aluminium. In November, a memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed in Singapore. The aim of this cooperation is to increase performance and efficiency across several sectors, including the automotive and aviation industries.
Fehrmann Materials X, a specialised department within the Fehrmann Tech Group, consists of a team of experts with international experience in the fields of simulation, artificial intelligence and data science. With a focus on material computer science and the accelerated digital development of high performance materials, this team closely cooperates with specialists for aluminium and metal casting at Fehrmann Materials. The cooperation with Armstrong Asia is expected to produce progressive technologies based on Fehrmann’s expert knowledge in developing aluminium alloys and on Armstrong Asia’s expertise in natural rubber production. Potential areas of application could be lightweight components and composite materials which combine both aluminium and rubber, and which promise to add new solutions for materials to fields like the automotive and aviation industries.
“As pioneers in aluminium technology, this strategic cooperation gives us the opportunity to expand our innovations to new sectors, especially within the Asia-Pacific market”, says Henning Fehrmann, Chairman of the Board of Management and CEO of the Fehrmann Tech Group. “We are looking forward to working with Armstrong Asia and making use of their extensive cross-sector experience to create pioneering solutions.”
