Pfeiffer Vacuum has held a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony in Asslar for an ultramodern industrial complex. A site expansion called "Future Factory Asslar" will be built on the company's premises in the future, which will significantly expand production and logistics capacities.
Logistics center
The 8,000-square-meter logistics center with an integrated, fully automated warehouse will be the centerpiece of the new building. An additional production area of over 1,000 square meters will also be created in the new building. In addition, a service environment will be created in which all service areas will work together centrally. The logistics center is scheduled to go into operation in 2024, and part of the existing building will be modernized in parallel.
Climate-neutral production
Ayla Busch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG, as well as the Management Board team consisting of Dr. Britta Giesen and Wolfgang Ehrk, attended the groundbreaking ceremony, which was attended by District Administrator Wolfgang Schuster and Asslar Mayor Christian Schwarz.
The company is relying on photovoltaic systems throughout the building project; the electricity generated is to be fed entirely into the company's own grid. The heat generated by the production facilities will also be recovered. E-charging columns for employees' vehicles are also being planned. The aim is for the site to be climate-neutral by 2030.
