Brokk has received its biggest order in the company’s 40 year history. A grand total of 60 Brokk robots with multiple tools and attachments will be delivered to a customer in Asia within Brokk’s Security & Rescue business area.
Since many years, Brokk robots are well known in the construction industry as well as in the process-, mining- and tunneling industries. What is less known is that Brokk robots are also used purposes and applications in post-disaster recovery. In these situations, which falls into Brokk’s “Security & Rescue” business area, the Brokk machines are used in activities following natural disasters, severe accidents, terrorist attacks, and similar.
Brokk’s proven machines with technology for both short and long-distance remote control, removes the operator from the high-risk areas the machines are intended to work in. Furthermore, after a disaster event it is difficult to predict exactly what challenges you might face. Then the Brokk machines’ capability to easily switch and use a wide variety of tools is highly valuable. One machine to move, lift, demolish, cut and dig its way through difficult conditions and terrain is what makes Brokk robots the perfect solution for a variety of rescue and recovery missions.
“Following the initial rescue work after a disaster there comes the challenge to get the infrastructure back up and working again. This clean-up and rehabilitation work can go on for an extended period of time. Our robots have the capacity and flexibility to be used in both phases.”, says Martin Krupicka, CEO of Brokk.
This record order is the result of several years of work. The deliveries are scheduled for later in 2019.
