Sven Schreiber is a new board member of the VDMA's Power-to-X for Applications working group with effect from 1 January 2023. The constituent meeting took place on 12 January 2023. The Power-to-X for Applications working group is the cross-industry information, communication and cooperation platform for the P2X community and involves stakeholders from development and manufacturing to the end user.
The 45-year-old engineering graduate Sven Schreiber has been heading up business for Alfa Laval in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 2019. The globally active Swedish company produces and sells technical components such as heat exchangers and separators for numerous industries and places climate and environmental protection at the centre of its activities. In the field of power-to-X, Alfa Laval components play an important role in the entire value chain, from hydrogen production and use for ammonia and methanol production to electricity generation in a fuel cell. Alfa Laval thus contributes to an efficient and sustainable transition in the chemical, metal and transport industries. The company has set itself the goal of being climate neutral in Scope 1 and 2 by 2030, and to reduce emissions in Scope 3 to 50 %.
Sven Schreiber names two core tasks within the scope of his commitment to the VDMA: "Firstly, the industry must make faster progress in the sustainable transformation. And secondly, we want to maintain the competitiveness of large-scale and heavy industry in Germany. In addition, it is of course my concern to position the world market leader Alfa Laval as a technology partner for this important topic."
