Barleben/Schopfheim, July 1, 2026 – From June 23 to 26, Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH welcomed around 300 guests to its headquarters in Meitzendorf for its inaugural Open Week. The four-day event brought together customers, business partners, representatives from politics, and experts from the research community, creating a platform for dialogue, innovation, and knowledge sharing. Visitors from Europe, the United States, Turkey, and India gained first-hand insights into the latest developments and solutions covering the complete core production process chain. With this new event concept, Laempe has successfully combined technological expertise with opportunities for networking and personal interaction.
The Open Week at Laempe’s manufacturing facility highlighted the technologies driving the future development of the foundry sector, featuring 16 interactive stations and a wide range of live presentations. A major highlight for many attendees was Laempe’s latest advancement in additive manufacturing: the L3D-200 3D printing system, which had received the Hugo Junkers Prize from the state of Saxony-Anhalt shortly before the event. Guests had the opportunity to observe the printer in operation, explore its practical applications, and exchange ideas directly with the engineers and developers behind the technology. Two L3D-200 machines were presented during the event, with both systems already purchased by customers.
L3D-200: Advanced 3D Printing Technology for Industrial Core and Mold Production
Developed by Laempe specifically for the automated large-scale manufacturing of sand cores and molds, the L3D-200 ranks among the world’s most advanced industrial 3D printing systems in this field. The technology enables foundries and industrial manufacturers to produce complex core and mold geometries efficiently, reliably, and with a high degree of automation. Its combination of high printing speed, consistent process performance, and flexible scalability makes the system a valuable solution for modern casting applications. The technology is already being used in industrial environments, including by companies such as the BMW Group.

Visitors were able to explore a variety of core shooting machines in different sizes and configurations, representing various process technologies for customers around the world. The company also demonstrated automation concepts developed for international projects, including solutions for wind turbine producer Enercon and motorcycle helmet manufacturer Schuberth. Additional digital tools for process supervision, data evaluation, and productivity enhancement completed the comprehensive exhibition program.

In addition to technological highlights, Laempe’s Open Week placed strong emphasis on dialogue and cooperation between industry representatives, political decision-makers, customers, and young professionals. The event’s official opening brought together guests from the worlds of business and politics, underlining the importance of innovation and industrial development in the region. State Secretary Stefanie Pötzsch from the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt inaugurated the public day on June 23 and highlighted the significance of Saxony-Anhalt as a location for advanced manufacturing. She emphasized Laempe’s contribution as a family-owned company, internationally active machine manufacturer, and innovation partner: “Saxony-Anhalt depends on companies that do more than simply follow market developments – they actively contribute to shaping technological progress. Laempe demonstrates impressively how engineering expertise and innovative capabilities can create international competitiveness. Following the opening day, the focus shifted entirely toward customer interaction and technical exchange. Until the conclusion of the event on June 26, approximately 300 guests from different countries, including Laempe’s global sales partners, visited the Meitzendorf site. Through this new event concept, Laempe sought not only to present its innovations but also to make technological developments tangible through personal discussions and direct experiences. On the final day, the company also opened its doors to students from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, providing insights into modern industrial technologies and career opportunities. The first Open Week ended with a gathering involving Laempe employees, recognizing their commitment and contribution to making the event a success.
The combination of practical technology demonstrations, expert conversations, and networking opportunities received highly positive responses from participants and partners alike.
