Robust and easy to use: Stud-welding systems from vhi

Our new, robust stud welding machines are optimal adapted to the circumstances of everyday assembly work. Of course they are easy to use.

The microprocessor-controlled 1600 MPC and 1000 MPC vhi stud welding machines are suitable for drawn arc stud welding (BH100) and for short-time drawn arc stud welding (BH10).

vhi stud welding machines can be used universal and they are suitable for assembly of all common anchor systems on the market.

Insulating materials

The standards which our materials and machines have to fulfill are high. It is our experience that enables us to determine the appropriate complex engineering tasks. This explains why we offer a wide variety of refractory and insulating materials for the entire range of refractory applications.

Ceramic fibre products are a standard constituent of refractory linings. For the mounting of insulating materials we offer a wide range of anchoring equipment, such as pins, studs, mounting and bajonet clips, cuplocks, skewers and module anchors. Our fibrefix-line is being applied wherever ceramic fibre blanket linings are needed for the insulation of walls or roofs. With the development of our Cuplock SC we now have a functional ceramic holding instrument at our disposal. Thanks to a minor undercut the locking pins are optimally protected, since the fibre mastic plug no longer falls off.

Steel fibres in refractory construction

Refractory concrete is exposed to frequent temperature changes with high tensile stresses to the material. Due to its stability and machinability, concrete is the ideal material for refractory construction, although it can only take slight drawing stresses. This results in a low standing time for the refractory construction, frequent periods of shut down for repairs and low furnace availability. For achievement of long service life of the refractory lining even at high and changing temperatures, steel fibres are added to the concrete. These fibres are homogeneously distributed in the material and evenly cushion the tensile stress. In comparison to conventional lining, this extends the service life of the refractory concretes many times, meaning you have fewer repairs, you avoid furnace downtimes, you lower the operating costs and you increase your furnace´s economy. Steel fibres make an essential improvement to the concrete and mortar properties in terms of their support and crack behaviour.

Here are the benefits at a glance:

  • high resistance to thermal shocks
  • high tension-, compression-, tensile bending-, shearing-, impact-, shock- and fatigue strength
  • flexible crack limitation
  • high resistance against bursting
  • high resistance against vibration
  • increased supporting strength for the monolithic cross section

About us

Company details

The use of refractory materials is one of the main pillars of

modern industry.

As an internationally active group of enterprises, working

in the market segment of the refractory industry, we’ve been

combining our technical knowledge for more than 25 years now.

What distinguishes us in particular from other companies in this

market is our close contact with our customers. By focusing

on their individual needs, we are able to supply them with

custom-manufactured concepts.

Our knowledge and experience enables us to find solutions for

all challenges, from designing, constructing or supervising

refractory linings or installations, however complex they may be.

We also offer a wide variety of new, custom-made refractory

anchoring systems, insulating products and more.

These technological innovations have proved highly successful

in practice.

Our main focus of attention during the development of products

and solutions lies in sustainability for our customers.

The principles upon which we act are timely direct contact with

resultant efficiency, cost-awareness, quality and safety. Our close

cooperation with our customers ensures our mutual success.
