Many production processes have high requirements on drying, cooling and heating processes due to their impact on final product quality. Only if completely steady, e.g. uniform browning of baked goods, safe curing of steel parts, size-consistent drying of plastics, or safe freezing of foodstuff is ensured. Tangential fans have been designed specifically for processes that require uniform covering of the working surface using air or other gases.
Combining advantageous features such as the axial fans' high-volume air feed and the radial fans' high pressures, they also offer the specific laminar air flow. The use of any distributing devices or additional deflectors which are needed for other fan types in order to keep the air flow and the temperature constantly distributed over the entire width, as e.g. necessary in an oven, will not be required. Due to the fact that the fan is positioned inside the machine costly amendments or constructional changes will not be needed. This also applies to any unnecessary complicated additional air ducting systems which is why the plant can be designed to become much smaller, more compact and space-saving.
Bearings and drives are located outside the supply medium for constructional reasons. That is why temperature differences, air humidity and aggressive gasses will not affect their life. The tangential fans may be used at a surrounding temperature of - 40°C to + 800°C. Available with a standard diameter of 25 to 1000 mm and a standard length of 40 to 4500 mm for airflow to 300000 m³/h they can be modified according to customer's requirements.
Industrial applications of the tangential fans are manifold, as they are appropriate for the use of recirculated air plants as well as for units characterized by an interior that is thermodynamically separated from the outside by an air curtain or for machines that need a constant air flow with a large outlet width.
