METAL BELLOWS COUPLING WITH CLAMPING HUB

Design:

  • With a single radial clamping screw per hub ISO 4762.
  • Any imbalance of the clamping hubs is compensated for by balancing bores located on the inside of the hub.
  • Temperature range: -30° C bis +100° C (-22° F to +212° F)
  • Backlash: Absolutely backlash-free due to frictional clamp connection.
  • Service life: These couplings are maintenance-free if the technical ratings are not exceeded.
  • Tolerance: On the hub/shaft connection 0.01 to 0.05 mm.
  • Material:
  • Bellows made of highly flexible high-grade stainless steel.

Since 1990, R+W has a separate development department for new developments and special solutions involving precision and industrial drive couplings.
R+W employs a talented team of engineers focused on the development of new products and custom solutions based on customer-specific application requirements. R+W's engineers work daily with 3D modeling programs, FEA software, and Matlab analysis programs.
With the cooperation of universities in Bayreuth and Aachen (Germany), new product developments are analyzed and tested on state of the art test equipment.
Several milestones in coupling technology, such as the first two piece, blind-mate bellows coupling and the SL ULTRALIGHT safety coupling originated from this department.
In addition to new product developments, custom solutions such as safety couplings for the International Space Station and blind-mate bellows couplings for the world's largest machine at CERN have been designed in just a few weeks.
On top of customized solutions for demanding applications, it is R+W's goal to develop at least one entirely new series of couplings to present to the world market each year.
