Pyrotape® Heat Tape

Non-adhesive high bulk glass fiber tape withstands intense heat and flame and sheds molten splash immediately.

Outstanding molten splash protection
Pyrotape® is a knitted high bulk glass fiber tape, heavily coated with our proprietary compound of iron oxide red silicone rubber. The specially designed compound sheds molten metal splash immediately, so very little heat transfer occurs. Pyrotape® can withstand repeated exposures to molten steel, molten aluminum and molten glass, up to 3000°F (1650°C).

High temperature protection for hoses and cables
Pyrotape® withstands continuous exposure to 500°F (260°C), up to 2000°F (1090°C) for 15-20 minutes, and up to 3000°F (1650°C) for 15-30 seconds. When exposed to flame, the silicone rubber transforms to a crust, creating a protective SiO2 refractory layer.

Non-adhesive install, without disconnection
Pyrotape® has an excellent modulus of elasticity and can wrap any diameter hose or cable – typically in a spiral wrap with a 50% overlap. Can be installed without disconnecting hoses or cables.

Festoon Protection

Custom Festoon Heat Protection Solutions Protect your hose and cable festoons from abrasion, extreme heat, sparks, ash, and molten splash

A small investment against downtime
A festoon protection system pays for itself many times over each time it prevents the punitive costs of an unscheduled shutdown, equipment replacement and lost production time.

Designed for the steel mill’s harshest conditions
We fabricate Custom Festoon Protection Systems from Insulflex® high temperature fabrics—our proprietary range of high-performance materials, designed specifically for protection in extreme environments.

An Insulflex® custom festoon protection system wraps cables and hoses in flexible, durable high temperature jacketing. Flapped, cinched closures guard against infiltration by dust and abrasives.

Custom trolley skirts
From the same Insulflex® high temperature fabrics, we also fabricate custom trolley skirts to protect the vulnerable saddles from heat or damage at each saddle support location

Cool Blue™ Aerostyle Pyrojacket®

Designed with extra-thick, braided high-bulk glass fiber to protect your personnel from hot hoses and piping, while cutting your heat energy losses.

Best possible heat insulation properties
Cool Blue™ high temperature firesleeve is designed to provide your personnel with effective heat protection against burns from flexible steam lines and hot hoses. Beneath the heavy coating of our proprietary compound of cool blue silicone rubber, Cool Blue’s braided firesleeve interior layer is twice as thick as (and denser than) our heaviest grade of Aerostyle Pyrojacket® firesleeve. Heat transfer through the firesleeve is gently dissipated, so that Cool Blue™ firesleeve remains friendly to human touch even at elevated temperatures.

Note: The exterior coating will not adhere to human skin.

Excellent modulus of elasticity
Cool Blue™ firesleeve can be used to bundle groups of hot hoses or tubes.

Performance rating
Depending on your operating conditions, Cool Blue™ firesleeve can reduce an outer temperature of 380 ° F (194°C) to approx: 130°F (54°C). Insulflex® Cool Blue™ firesleeve can typically be installed on hose assemblies operating up to 600°F (316°C).
