Founded in 2011, PIQ2 develops and supports software solutions for the die casting industries.
These are innovative solutions combining state of the art advanced modelling calculation technology with the enormous practical experience of both founders and partners working for many years in this specific area.
The company is located within the offices of The Centre for Multi-sector Technologies (CSMT) in the engineering faculty of the University of Brescia, Italy. As a result PiQ2 has the benefits of privileged contacts with the academic world and resulting synergies with financed research projects, qualified research manpower, consultancy and access to the foundry laboratories for testing the advanced modelling theories.
The solutions developed by PiQ2 are based on a revolutionary concept for the world of software used in process simulation applications: the co-existence, within a single piece of software of advanced mathematical calculations based on the laws of physics and the development teams many years of practical foundry experience.
The numeric results of the simulations are compared with the practical experience and presented in a way that is easy to understand for those used to the process, while providing warnings of critical areas and suggestions that will improve the project and/or process.
In fact, as an expert system the solution acquires knowledge from the operating methods of the company and offers practical suggestions to the user (both in the design and production phases) that allow the user to better understand the process and use this knowledge within the company.
