Glass measurement with

Laser triangulation sensors can also be used for measuring panes of glass. type systems can be used for measuring the bending of double paned laminated safety glass of windscreens and rear wind-screens of cars.

For producing the curvature of the panes of glass these are moved into a kiln on a transport device and subjected to a defined spatial and temporal temperature profile. After this process the curvature is measured using three laser triangulation sensors along three paths while the glass is hot. Because of the structure of the layers of laminated panes, multiple reflections of the laser beam occur. The resulting disturbances of the measured data are eliminated by filter algorithms.

For a curvature of 13 mm fifty repeated measurements produce a standard deviation of the laser measuring system of < 10 micrometers. With a resulting cg value of 20, this enables a measuring system analysis under production conditions. The measuring system described here is used in the three-shift operation at several locations for quality control and for controlling the kiln process.

Contactless online thickness measurement - alpha.ti

he manufacturing of strip-like products requires the measuring of the thickness to keep specified tolerances while guiding the manufacturing process securely. nokra offers measuring systems to be integrated in a production line for a contactless online thickness measurement. These systems measure the thickness continuously without any delay providing the decisive information to improve the manufacturing process and to achieve an efficient quality assurance.

The laser measurement is based on the principle of laser triangulation. The laser measuring systems of nokra are specified and inspected on the basis of established national and international standards as well as on the guideline „Measurement System Analysis“ of the international car manufacturer and supplier industry.

The key component of a thickness measuring system are laser triangulation sensors for the measurement of distances. The thickness is determined using the synchronously measured distance values from the top and bottom side of the strip-like product.

Flatness measurement for rough plate metal -

Typical rough plate metal, for instance for large pipes, pipelines, mobile cranes, ships and platforms for wind power plants with its dimensions of several 10 square meters has a total weight of several tons. The most frequent reason for reclamation is a flatness requirement which has not been complied with. The flatness of every manufactured metal plate in the production line is subjected to contactless inspection by an automatic flatness measuring system.

A 3-D presentation shows the measured flatness. After the passage it is directly shown on the control panel. Through feedback of the measurement results into the process management additional cost-intensive er-rors in the production are avoided. nokra’s flatness measuring systems are fitted with an automatic function for adjusting and monitoring (measuring capability proof in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001).
