About us

Company details

Ruf Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG is a family run business which has been specialised in the development and production of briquetting systems for over thirty years. Each and every RUF briquetting press is set up individually for the customer and are produced exclusively in our German production facility in Zaisertshofen.

RUF systems are used for the compression of fine-particled residual material like chips, sludges or dust. Specially conceived for the briquetting of metal chips produced from castings, iron, aluminium, or copper, we provide briquetting systems with a throughput of between 30 and 4,800 kg/hour.

Depending on the type of material, chip texture and briquette shape, our hydraulic presses work with a specific pressing power of up to 5,000 kg/ cm². The result is robust briquettes which when compared to loose chips generally make improved smelting possible.

Further benefits of briquetting:
- Reduction in volume of dust and chips
- Compaction of chips leading to increased value of residuals
- Drainage of fluids from chips
- Simplyfied storage and batching
- Quicker smelting times
- Material whose metallury is known can be resmelted

There are currently over 3,700 RUF briquetting systems in operation in more than 100 countries worldwide.
