As a member of almost all international political, social and economical institutions, and complying with all commercial regulations set up by these institutions, Turkey has become one of the countries which is preferred by leading multinational firms for realizing joint ventures in the world markets. Electrical-electronics, machinery and ICT industry has made the biggest contribution to this position of Turkey. In Turkey, most of the companies operating in the field of electronics started business through foreign licence agreements. In this context, a significant number of companies have foreign capital. On the other hand, a large number of Turkish manufacturers have affixed the CE Mark to their products for exports to the European Union. At the same time, Turkish manufacturers are closely following developments in international quality and environmental standards. Turkey has shown a considerable rate of growth in electrical-electronics, machinery and ICT industry in the last 30 years. The companies in the industry invested in the latest technologies in their facilities to reach the capability to provide necessary research and development and technology for many products. The industry produces high value-added and high-tech products and its share in the export scale of Turkey is continuously increasing together with the total export volume in the international market.

Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB) is a professional establishment which

deals with all of the export activities within regions that have a high level of export activities. IMMIB

carries out an outstanding role representing around 22,000 members who produce and/or export almost all kinds of minerals, natural stones,

chemicals and chemical products, ferrous and nonferrous metals, electrical/electronics, cosmetics,

jewelry and many more. Thus, IMMIB is composed of 6 Exporters' Associations.

members' benefits.In the framework of promoti ng exports IMMIB performs activities for improvement of the

represented sectors; such as researches, publications, adverti sements abroad, organizing

fairs; Buying missions and trade missions and professional meetings.
