PT Mk. II electric melting stationary furnace up to 1100 °C

The furnace that saves both money and space

When we designed the PT Mk.II melting and holding furnace for a variety of metal alloys, we emphasised energy savings, and it was also our goal to reduce these facilities’ dimensions. We have succeeded, so the PT Mk.II will find a place even in foundries with limited space for furnace installation.

We achieved the smallest possible dimensions thanks to our use of the latest insulation materials and a new system for mounting the heating spirals. We placed them in the grooves of refractory castable shaped blocks, preventing them from overheating and protecting them from molten aluminium if the crucible should happen to crack.

The PT Mk.II furnaces belong among the most effective and energy-efficient facilities on the market for holding aluminium. And this is not only because we have reduced their power needs to a minimum, but also thanks to their new insulation system.

This tilting gas furnace with recuperation can help you to save 25-30 % of gas when compared with standard gas furnaces. This furnace is used for melting metals up to 1,200 °C (approx. 1,100 °C in the crucible) and, if needed, the subsequent pouring of the melted product over into a transport ladle or a transport holding furnace. It is then transported for further processing. The furnace is fitted with a recuperator which preheats the air intended for combustion in the gas burner. PTT Melting Transport Furnace up to 900 °C

PK hardening chamber furnace up to 1280 °C

A sturdy furnace for hardening and more, even available in a semigastight version

We design our hardening chamber furnaces as very durable facilities for hardening, annealing, or preheating metal charges before forging under an oxidizing atmosphere. The heating elements are covered with SiC plates with strong mechanical durability, which protect them from damage. Heating from three sides, meanwhile, is a guarantee of even heat distribution within the operating area.

At your request, we also manufacture these furnaces in a semi-gastight version with a working tub, so that you can also use them for heat treatment of a charge under a partially protective atmosphere. Do not expect, however, for this furnace to be on par with a gastight furnace after these adjustments. This is truly only partial protection of the charge.

VKT bogie-hearth furnace up to 900 / 1260 °C

For easier loading of charges with large bulk or quantity

Thanks to its sturdy construction, this chamber furnace holds up in even the heaviest operations. The charge is loaded onto the furnace bogie, which is then driven into the furnace. You control the furnace using programmable PID controllers, and so you can very precisely choose the course of the operation in progress inside the furnace’s chamber. In bogie-hearth furnaces, we can also set up even heat distribution according to the DIN 17052–1 standard.

LAC, s.r.o. is a purely Czech firm that has grown its way from a 10x10 m garage up to manufacturing, storage, and administrative spaces with a total area of 25,000 sqm. Since our founding in 1992, we have developed and produced over 14,000 furnaces and dryers and over 50,000 different shapes for refractory castable shapes.

And to give you an idea of our growth — in 2000 we had 114 employees, while today we have 230 employees. We have over fifty lines of standard furnaces and dryers in our assortment, and we develop six custom projects per month.
