ALUMINIUM RECYCLING PLANTAS

Fully automated aluminium recycling turnkey plants designed to obtain the highest metal yield for any kind of scrap.
At GHI, we design and supply plants for recycling and recovering aluminium from dross, including all the components required to ensure the efficient operation of such plants.
When aluminium is smelted, dross is produced that must be removed. This dross contains traces of aluminium that can be recovered by means of a subsequent melting process in a rotary furnace.

Dross containing aluminium is placed in a tilting rotary furnace, where the metal is smelted and then transferred to a holding furnace for addition of the alloying agents necessary. Finally, the alloyed metal is transferred to a casting machine for producing ingots, or poured directly into ladles for shipment by road in molten form.
GHI has developed a specific range of cutting-edge equipment for aluminium refineries. The aim is to recover aluminium from dross, supplying the market with customised aluminium alloys in both ingot and molten aluminium form.

Tilting Rotary Furnace for Melting Aluminium

Higher efficiency and lower contamination

For low-grade scrap recovery, we have developed this new concept in rotary melting furnaces which provides profitable metal yields and produces significantly lower contaminant waste than traditional models, which produce high amounts of waste salts.

Dross containing aluminium is placed in tilting rotary furnace, where the metal is smelted and then transferred to a holding furnace for addition of the alloying agents necessary.
The double door system in tilting rotary furnaces allows loading without interrupting the melting process.
GHI references include a 65-ton capacity rotary furnace, the largest manufactured to date worlwide.

Reverberatory Melting Furnace for Melting Aluminium

Highly suitable for melting and holding aluminium scrap. Its efficiency is based on melting aluminium scrap through heat reflected from the furnace walls and ceiling, and the convection effect through contact with the hot fumes produced by combustion.

Reverberatory furnaces can be static or tilting, can have sidewells, conventional doors or whole-wall doors for access to the entire width of the chamber. They can be fitted with porous plugs and agitation systems to optimise the quality and evenness of the molten aluminium.

Aluminium Smelter

A smelter is a furnace for melting aluminium or aluminium alloy ingots or medium size scrap. It is used both in foundries and in plants for recovering secondary aluminium. It can be added to an existing plant to increase melting capacity. Flue loading aluminium melting furnaces make optimal use of heat from fumes, and loads descend evenly to the high-temperature zone.

By using systems with a stock of baskets or stacks, and sometimes return of empty baskets, it requires minimum worker involvement for loading.

Top Loading Circular Furnace for Melting Aluminium

Circular furnace offering ideal features for mass melting of aluminium scrap and alloys. Extremely robust equipment with superb melting speeds.
The furnace opens at the top by means of a mechanism integrated with the chamber, which raises and swings out the domed lid so that scrap can be loaded in very quickly from baskets. This reduces the downtime that can sometimes occur when the dome lid is raised and swung out by a separate mechanism.
