Bus bar insulators for hydrometallurgy

We build our insulators from thermoset blends and alloyed resins, reinforced with Fiberglas mat and polymer concrete, with embedded full-length single-piece pultruded rods and rebars, using covalent chemical links. Our insulators are fabricated with ECR Fiberglas made in North America. ECR Fiberglas allows us to increase all thermomechanical properties of our hydrometallurgical insulators. The ECR Fiberglas is unique in that is has the chemical resistance of a type C or type A Fiberglas, along with electrical resistance and mechanical strength of a type E Fiberglas.

Cells for hydrometallurgy

Our cells are made with mixed composite materials such as mats, stitched and woven roving. Double fiberglass hull system creating a sandwich structures using the advantages of its different components; pultruded rods, polymer concrete and fiberglass mats. The cell is reinforced with pultruded bars. Our structural designs and chemical compositions can resist sulfuric acid concentrations up to 98% over operational lifespans up to 20 years without losing their mechanical properties. The lifespan of cathodes, anodes and cells are significantly increased as well as the entire tank-house’s electrical efficiency

About us

Company details

We create and produce two major product lines and are protected by several patents. Our customers are copper and zinc refineries mainly located in the Americas, including Chile. Our Hydrometallurgical insulators are custom made and our customers use them for their performance, dimensional consistency and durability.
Our cells are also unique. They are made with polymer concrete, and mixed composite materials, therefore, have very high mechanical resistance to thermal shocks. Furthermore, our patented lifting option greatly facilitates handling.
