The hydraulic Gauss Magneti electromagnet is an integrated system consisting of one electromagnet with a generator, suitable for the handling of ferrous materials.
Mounted on the electromagnet there is an hydraulic generator and an electronic control panel for control, protection and counter-excitation that makes the system very compact and easy to install and uninstall.
The electromagnet is completely independent and can therefore be used on different machines. The electromagnet can be connected to the machine either by quick coupling (not included) or alternatively by means of a three-legs chain with central ring (included in the delivery). The electromagnet can be delivered also with teeth.
The function magnetizes and demagnetizes is controlled by means of the hydraulic machine oil: no electrical connections are required. The needed oil flow is taken from the attachments supply line or any other service line (for example hammer) and has to be connected to the input/output of the generator.
Gauss Magneti Electro permanent magnets are particularly suitable for the handling of long flat products and have the peculiarity to remain magnetized magnetization even if there is no mains voltage or cable breakage, so they do not require battery backup or safety mechanical forks; they are intrinsically safe.
Particularly suitable for the handling of Billets, Slabs, Single Sheets, Single Tubes, Single Rounds, Single Beams, Single Rails and Cold Rolled Coils both horizontally and vertically.
Their peculiarity lies in the fact that they are activated by a current pulse of a duration of a few seconds and keep their magnetization until a second equal current pulse is sent but opposite to the first which demagnetize them. In addition to the undoubted advantage of a safe handling, they are very seldom subject to failures due to an almost null internal heating due to Joule effect.
The advent of rare earth magnetic materials has allowed a considerable reduction in the weights and in the size of electro permanent magnets having the same lifting capacity.
