Billet shear

At the second half of 2017, we got an order from OVAKO AB for a turnkey shipment of a new billet shear and scrap conveyor.

The new concept was, that after cutting, the scrap piece falls on the walking beam, which transports the scrap on a weighing scale and finaly on the transfer car. This rope driven car carries the scrap to the ejector which kicks the scrap into an bin on the existing scrap carusel.

We only had a very short time for basic and detail engineering. The castings and the remaining mechanics were ready just before delivery and the pre-assembly as well as the test of the shear could still take place

Product category: Hot rolling mills

After a concept study and a generation of budgetfigures, we received the contract for modernisation of the existing TRIO rolling mill.

The core of the plant, the Trio-rolling mill, was modified to a DUO rolling mill to enable reversing duty. The main drive and some other mill components have been completely renewed. The existing mill housings are still in use. In order to increase production in the future, the roll gap has also been increased. New cooling units, new buildings to accommodate the new electrical system and hydraulic modifications were carried out.

In addition to the modifications of the mill, the project also included various adaptions for the material flow. For this purpose, the tilting tables were adapted on the entry and exit side. A new roller table was installed, for further transport of the plates to the hot leveller.
