Quenching and Tempering Equipment

SCHLAGER manufactures custom-made quenching and tempering equipment to the highest technical standards according to your requirements and consistent with the material flow of your furnaces. Oil, water or polymer tanks with recooling and temperature regulation are used so that the repeat accuracy of the process parameters is assured at all times. The circulation of the quenching mediums, specially developed by us, guarantees even quenching of the work-pieces without formation of soft spots, (Leidenfrost effect). The recooler is part of our product range and, accordingly, you get a turn-key system.

Tanks with volumes of 5ms³ to 300ms³ are produced. The robust tanks are equipped with an integrated work-piece carrier which incorporates a lifting system capable of withstanding the loads (in the long term). The requisite mechanisms are very robustly designed and protected in order to withstand rough handling.

We achieve the shortest times from leaving the furnace up to complete immersion in the quenching tank with our own conveyor systems.

This is the great advantage of an expert system supplier: all steps of the hardening-process are delivered from own manufacturing facilites.

Chamber Furnaces

Our individually designed and manufactured chamber furnaces are preferred for use in forging shops and in the heat treatment of high-quality products.

On account of our many years of expertise and experience in furnace building for the aerospace industry, SCHLAGER provides special solutions for these applications. Even the highest temperature uniformities are reliably and consistently achieved. We design and produce chamber furnaces for charge weights from 2,000kgs to 100,000kgs and operating temperatures between 100°C and 1,380°C. Our effective sealing systems ensure reliable, long term stability in the separation of the furnace atmosphere from the ambient air in the area of the door.

Heating is achieved using high-speed or flat-flame burners that ensure an economical, resource-conserving heating of the payload. The exhaust gas energy is returned to the process through effective heat exchangers. We use the most modern recuperative and regenerative heating systems.

In order to optimise heat transfer rates and temperature uniformity at low process temperatures SCHLAGER furnace installations have an effective atmosphere circulation.

Car bottom furnaces

SCHLAGER car bottom furnaces are robust and reliable systems, favoured in forging works as well as for use in the heat treatment of high-quality products. We manufacture the most modern car bottom furnaces for charge-weights from 5,000 kgs to 250,000 kgs of payload weight and operating temperatures between 100°C and 1,380°C.

We have developed individual solutions for the aerospace industry to guarantee the highest temperature-uniformity and processing reliability.
Our products are distinguished by our effective sealing systems which reliably seal the furnace and the doors from the surrounding atmosphere.
