Bimetallic (hardfacing, clad, overlaid) wear resistant plate (hardfaced plate, clad plate, overlaid plate) is a double-layer metal material composed of two different metals - steel and alloys which are firmly connected to each other and it is a unified whole.
The layers have different functions and in accordance with these terms they are called – thebasicand deposited layer. Basic layer assumes mechanical loads and deposited layer has high wear resistance and has protective function.
Bimetallic plates SWIP (hardfaced plate, clad plate, overlaid plate) are plates, the basis of which can be either a plain low carbon steel or heat resistant steel. Special wear resistant coating is applied on the basic layer with the help of robotic powder cladding.
