Pattern, Runner & System Wax

From our proprietary casting wax ranges below, Remet’s technologists are able to expertly blend a wax for investment casting to meet your pattern making or wax assembly requirements.

Remet supply two ranges of filled casting waxes, HYFILL® and LITEFILL®. Differentiated by the level of filler, both of these product ranges are characterised by the excellent dimensional reproducibility of the casting patterns they create. Experts in wax formulation, Remet can blend either of the HYFILL or LITEFILL ranges to suit the creation of small through to large casting patterns. Accounting for the rigours across a variety of specialist applications – Aerospace, Automotive, IGT, Medical and Commercial.

Wax blends in all of our ranges are able to constituted of purely virgin materials or include reclaim wax. Remet is able to reclaim used casting waxes to produce a high quality, near virgin material that is cost effective and in many cases performs as a virgin blend. During the synthesis we can modify the properties of reclaimed waxes to achieve a customer’s required dimensional and mechanical performance. As the investment casting industries only major supplier with ISO 14001 accreditation, REMET is an obvious choice for recycling your autoclaved wax.

Remet also supply a range of unfilled casting wax – CASTYLENE® – and a water filled wax – AQUACAST®.

All Remet materials are REACH compliant, our casting wax ranges are available in either 5kg slabs in 20kg cartoons or 25kg bags of pastilles.

Water Soluble, Sticky, Extruded, Dipseal and Patching Wax for Investment Casting

Water Soluble, Sticky, Extruded, Dipseal and Patching Wax for Investment Casting
Remet supply specialty casting waxes to perform a number of specific tasks within the investment casting process.

Uniquely formulated our specialty waxes perform the following tasks:

  • Water Soluble Wax – SOLUCORE® – to achieve a greater level of complexity in the pattern making process
  • Sticky Wax – STICKTITE® – casting waxes able to bond patterns to runner/sprue systems in the wax assembly process
  • Extruded Wax – RED® C – shaped wax extrusions which allow the investment caster to design and build flexible wax assembly systems.
  • Over Dipping Wax – DIPSEAL® – for the coating of a wax assembly offering improved primary coat adhesion
  • Patching Wax, Remet offer versatile blends that are both soluble and non-soluble in water that aid the investment caster in the repairing of defects in patterns, wax assemblies and soluble cores.

Ceramic Shell Casting Material

For the production of ceramic shells for the investment casting process a slurry is created from combining a liquid binder, refractory flours and sands.

Remet supply all the casting materials to create high quality ceramic shells, able to be tailored to meet a wide range of casting applications for the full spectrum of metal alloys.

Remet have pioneered the transition from alcohol to water based binders within the investment casting industry, Enabling foundries to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, decrease environmental impact and improve the working environment, whilst improving the quality of their investment castings. We supply traditional alcohol binders, as well as our proprietary blend, fastest drying colloidal silica, REMASOL®. The benefits of REMASOL can be further enhanced by our unique ADBOND® polymer, which can be configured to meet your casting requirements.

Remet supplies a wide range of refractory materials, including fused silica and aluminosilicate grades, suitable for a range of applications requiring steel and cast iron castings. To meet specific needs we supply specialist refractories such as zircon, zirconia and alumina. These refractories are used to produce high quality investment castings from Nickel, Titanium, Cobalt and Magnesium alloys.
