Licensed Trades

Licensed trade is a specific area of business in manufacturing, trade and services. Trade means a continuing activity carried out independently in one's own name and at one's own responsibility in order to achieve a profit and under the conditions laid down by the Trades Licensing Act. A trade may only be conducted on the basis of a trade licence. The basic legislation (the Trades Licensing Act and the details of the individual trades can be found in the Legislation section. Data records on entrepreneurs (natural and legal persons) established by the Trade Act as well as changes to these data can be found at The Trade Register. A guide to acquiring a trade licence (declaring a trade or applying for a licence) can be found in the section Guide to Licensed Trades. This section also contains a Mentor (for starting and established) entrepreneurs, containing information on the basic legislative requirements for starting and engaging in a licensed trade.
