The company inspectomation specialises in automated image processing and was acquired by the company Laempe in 2018. The core products Core-Vision, Disc-Inspector and Flexinspector make it possible to automatically detect faults, damages and other inconsistencies in sand cores and castings, using camera technology. This means the entire manual effort of quality control in production is no longer necessary. At this year's GIFA, the company demonstrates how their image processing products and solutions can be integrated into the automation solutions by Laempe Mössner Sinto. The full impact of these solutions only becomes visible after complete integration into existing processes. The company therefore offers foundries a comprehensive all-in-one solution—from image processing, mechanics, programming and set-up to maintenance.
Core-Vision is an image-based camera system that automatically detects faults in sand cores and sand moulds. Compared to traditional methods, the Core-Vision system generates a series of images with different lighting. This series of images contains comprehensive information about the shape of the object that needs to be checked.
The Disc-Inspector system is specially geared towards manufacturers of brake discs. This solution uses imaging technology to inspect the air vents and all visible surfaces of a brake disc for casting errors or damages. When it is automated, it can check the entire production in synchronised step with manufacturing. The Disc-Inspector solution is modular and can be adapted to the needs of individual customers.
With Flexinspector, all visible surfaces of a casting can be inspected for casting defects or damages. Calibration allows the system to also check whether any parts deviate from their required dimensions. The inspection occurs in step with production, and there is no limit to the size and variety of workpieces. Foundries can create individual inspection programmes, maintain and adjust them.
