The company Rheinmetall from Düsseldorf is providing starting support for the manufacture of a state-of-the-art cylinder crankcase in Uzbekistan for a US producer of original equipment. The cooperation was recently entered into.
As part of the contract, Rheinmetall will be working together with the company from Uzbekistan for the first time. The first 100,000 cylinder crankcases will be manufactured in Neckarsulm, Germany and delivered from there. After the starting support period, volume production will be continued in Uzbekistan using pressure die-casting.
With this cooperation, Rheinmetall is not only contributing to the economic development of the country, but also wants to help reduce global emissions that harm the environment. The motors that are being developed for the 3-cylinder crankcase require less fuel. Rheinmetall regards the international cooperation as providing opportunities to expand the production of modern cylinder crankcases.
The Rheinmetall business unit Castings is an international joint venture with HUAYU Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (HASCO). The foundry cooperation consists of the two companies KS HUAYU AluTech in Europe and HASCO KSPG Nonferrous Components (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (KPSNC) in China. The German company and SAIC each hold 50% of the shares.
