The strategy of strengthening customer partnerships in key markets and optimizing collaboration with partners for sales and engineering is very important to HIMA, a provider of safety-related automation solutions.
The company has been present in the United Arab Emirates for more than 20 years and serves customers in a total of 82 countries, including the Middle East, Kazakhstan, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
On February 28, 2023, HIMA Middle East opened its new headquarters in new premises in Jebel Ali, Dubai. During the opening event, Steffen Philipp (Managing Partner), Jörg de la Motte (CEO), Michael Löbig (CFO) and Andrew Dennant (Vice President of HIMA Middle East Region) welcomed customers, guests and local government officials.
Strengthened presence in the Middle East
HIMA Group continues to invest in the Middle East, where the business focus is shifting from the traditional crude oil processing industry to serving customers who are increasingly supplying energy from renewable sources.
"By expanding our market presence in the Middle East, we are confirming our long-term commitment to supporting our customers and partner companies in this important region," explains Steffen Philipp, Managing Partner of HIMA Group.
The process and rail industries have embraced the digitalization of functional safety. Already in the Middle East, Africa and the CIS countries, HIMA has located a broader range of expertise.
"Our approach is to support our clientele in the digitization of functional safety and to generate added value. The investment in the new Dubai office is in line with our international growth strategy," said Jörg de la Motte, CEO of HIMA.
Sustainability at the new location
The new branch is home to a competence center for project development, lifecycle services and product support. The issue of sustainability was given high priority in the selection of the new premises. The installation of water-saving washrooms reduces the building's overall water consumption by up to 80%, and an air distribution function saves up to 30% of annual electricity consumption.
In this way, a potential 76% reduction in the carbon footprint can be achieved. Also, the new space concept enables hybrid working and creates a new platform for collaboration with customers.
"At Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), protecting the interests of our clientele has always been one of our top priorities. We are proud to have HIMA Middle East, who share our commitment to safety, with us. For over 20 years, the company has contributed significantly to the enhancement of functional safety and security in Middle East. We are very pleased to celebrate today the inauguration of the new office and expansion in Jafza," said Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer, Parks and Zones, DP World UAE.
"In the UAE, we have relevant industry knowledge and expertise around safety-related automation solutions. Our goal is to be as close as possible to our clientele. With our new headquarters, we will continue to grow our business," comments Andrew Dennant, Vice President at HIMA Middle East.
