K.-H. Müller Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH from Sien values sustainability very highly and will therefore rely exclusively on recycled plastic for the packaging of its tools in future. The company emphasises that the new packaging protects the tools just as reliably as before, but large quantities of raw material can now be saved.
The company is going even further by collecting already used foam filling material to reuse it as packaging material. For quite some time, the company has also been recycling tools that can no longer be resharpened at the end of their life cycle. Reuse saves large quantities of solid material in production and thus prevents CO2 emissions. By recycling, companies can save up to 14 tons of CO2 annually, depending on the tool volume. The service life of recycled tools is reportedly the same as that of new tools.
