In the past fiscal year 2022/2023, SMC, the world's leading provider of automation products for industry, achieved record results, among other things thanks to the increasing demand for electric cars in China and in semiconductor production.
In fiscal year 2022/2023, SMC's sales increased by 13.4 percent to 824.7 billion yen (around 5.84 billion euros) compared to the previous year. As in the previous year, the company benefited from its broad international positioning, a healthy sales mix, good production and storage capacities and a competitive cost structure. After the corona pandemic subsided, the delays in the supply chains also decreased.
Enhanced growth
SMC wants to continue to drive growth on the German market and is making new appointments to its management: Since July 1st, 2023, Daniel Langmeier has been the new Managing Director of SMC Deutschland GmbH in addition to his function as Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors at SMC Schweiz AG. Daniel Langmeier has been with SMC for 39 years and was responsible for the German market from 2000-2013.
