Transport systems for use in foundries

Choosing the right feeder for each use is often crucial for the later quality of cast parts. The company Aumund offers feeder technologies for the complete process chain in foundries that use procedures based on greensand moulds for production.

Flat plate conveyors, for example, demonstrate a strong resistance to physical impact from tools for removing sprue, like hammers, hydraulic separation wedges or manipulators. These tools exert high pressure on the conveyor, which is compensated by the overlapping plates. Other systems like belt conveyors with steel wires, or strap hinges, do not have the mechanical stability necessary for these applications.

Especially where there is little room, the conveyors by Aumund offer several advantages. The supplier can construct the conveyors to meet individual customer needs, horizontally, slightly inclined or combined, to adjust them to existing geometries.

With the new atomised spray cooling by the company, cast parts are cooled down in a controlled and careful manner to prepare them for demoulding, sprue removal, sandblasting or sorting. With these special conveyors, it becomes possible to process an entire day's production in one collective cooling process.
