40 Years of Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd: A History of Innovation and Excellence
Omega Sinto Machinery and Plant Engineering, a leading supplier to the foundry industry, celebrated its 40th anniversary. Many international guests gathered near Peterborough to congratulate this dynamic and innovative company, with its strong leadership and wonderful hosts. The celebrations highlighted Omega Sinto’s long-standing success story and global reach, characterised by constant innovation and excellent service. Staff and guests from all over the world came together to celebrate this milestone in the company’s history.
Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd, which emerged from a management buyout of Baker Perkins in 1984, has continued to evolve globally and today offers an impressive portfolio comprising a comprehensive range of products, including state-of-the-art sand mixers, mould handling equipment, core-making machines, shake-out machines, sand recovery systems and coating systems.
“I have spoken personally to more than 3,000 foundries,” says Mark Fenyes.
In his light-hearted speech during the anniversary celebrations, Managing Director Mark Fenyes spoke about the efforts and successes of the past 40 years. He mentioned that around 6,000 mixers, 4,300 sand reclamation systems, 1,400 moulding lines and numerous other machines had been sold and installed. Fenyes himself has clocked up over 3.2 million air miles and spoken to around 3,000 foundries. The factory is an impressive sight, and Mark Fenyes spoke with justifiable pride about his staff and partners.
The company’s remarkable growth is underlined by its strategic global partnerships. In 2001, Tinker Omega LLC was founded to serve the North American and Mexican markets. This was followed by the establishment of Omega Sane Foundry Machinery PVT Ltd in 2009, which expanded the company’s reach in India, and Omega’s acquisition of Richards Engineering. The establishment of ENDECO Omega (PTY) Ltd in 2015 marked Omega’s entry into South Africa, whilst the acquisition of Omega Tecnostudio SRL in Italy in the same year enhanced the company’s design capabilities. The partnership with the Japanese company Sintokogio in 2018 further consolidated Omega Sinto’s global presence and led to the establishment of Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd.

Both Mark Fenyes and Sinto’s CEO Atchi Nagai had nothing but praise for the collaboration, which has served and strengthened the companies’ synergies in the best possible way. “Those who dance and drink together can also think together,” as Atchi Nagai so aptly put it, thereby impressively underlining the excellent collaboration.
