Lenbach Equity Opportunities III. GmbH & Co. KG (“LEO III Fund”) – a private equity fund advised by the DUBAG Group and specialising in investments in special situations – has completed the acquisition of ItalPresseGauss S.r.l. from Altor with effect from 30 March 2026. This transaction marks the next step following the spin-off of ItalPresseGauss from the Norican Group in June 2025. The carve-out was carried out to enable the company to achieve greater strategic autonomy and utilise dedicated resources, thereby promoting a stronger focus on its core technological competencies and market positioning.

Emanuel Cattanei, Partner at the DUBAG Group, explains: “We are delighted to support ItalPresseGauss in this next phase of its development. The company has a strong market position, a respected technological heritage and significant potential for further growth. Together with the management team, we aim to strengthen the company’s innovative capabilities, further refine its customer offering and support both organic expansion and selected acquisitions – particularly in Europe and the USA.”

Working closely with the existing management team, the LEO III Fund plans to accelerate ItalPresseGauss’s technological progress whilst promoting its international growth strategy. The aim is to further consolidate the company’s position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-pressure aluminium die-casting systems.

A key element of the future strategy will be continued investment in innovation and technical expertise to meet evolving customer requirements even more effectively. In addition to initiatives for organic growth, the company will also explore targeted acquisition opportunities – particularly in Europe and North America. Structural trends in the automotive sector – foremost among them the electrification of vehicles and the rising demand for lightweight components – are creating favourable market conditions for aluminium casting technologies. These developments are expected to act as significant long-term growth drivers for ItalPresseGauss.

Marco Gandini, Managing Director of ItalPresseGauss, emphasises: “We regard this acquisition as a crucial stepping stone in our transformation process. Our focus remains on offering our customers genuine added value, strengthening our expertise and driving continuous improvement throughout the company. With the support of the DUBAG Group, we are ideally positioned to accelerate our growth whilst maintaining the continuity, corporate culture and customer focus that define our identity.”

In response to these developments, the company aims to expand its technology portfolio and strengthen its presence in key international markets where demand for efficient, high-performance aluminium die-casting solutions is steadily rising. Operational continuity remains the top priority even following the change of ownership. The management team and day-to-day business operations remain largely unchanged; this ensures stability for customers, partners and employees, whilst also safeguarding compliance with established quality standards and maintaining long-standing business relationships.

Ludovico Denza, Head of the DUBAG Group’s Italian operations, explains: “We are delighted to announce the LEO III Fund’s third acquisition in Italy. This transaction represents another important step towards strengthening our presence in the Italian market and provides a solid platform for further growth in this region.”
