Resand expands into Italy with electric sand processing
The Italian foundry industry is placing increasing emphasis on sustainability as environmental issues receive ever greater attention. With the aim of minimising waste, Italian foundries are turning to innovative approaches to improve resource efficiency. At the forefront of this transformation is Resand’s electric sand reclaimer, which offers a revolutionary solution for the industry. The e-reclaimer is a modular system designed for easy installation and rapid commissioning, with a lead time of just 4–5 months, making it a highly accessible option for foundries.
The electrically powered reclaimer can reduce CO₂ emissions caused by the use and transport of new sand by up to 70 per cent. When powered by renewable energy, the reclaimer’s direct greenhouse gas emissions – i.e. Scope 1 emissions – remain minimal. Once regenerated, the sand can be reused time and again in 3D printing and foundry processes, thereby significantly reducing the need for new sand.
