GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, NEWCAST and decarbXpo under new management: Malte Seifert appointed new Project Director

Malte Seifert (37) has been the new head of GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST since 1 August. As Project Director, he is responsible not only for the quartet of trade fairs – which will take place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June next year – but also for the seven international editions of the Bright World of Metals. He is also taking over the management of the decarbXpo event, whose core theme is decarbonisation across all areas of production – not least in the foundry and metalworking industries. The event has evolved from the former ENERGY STORAGE EUROPE and will take place for the first time under its new format from 20 to 22 September 2022.

Seifert, an MBA graduate of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, is a familiar face at Messe Düsseldorf: he previously worked there from 2010 to 2019 – initially for the ‘boot’ trade fair and most recently as Senior Manager for ‘interpack’. At the latter, he played a key role in analysing the potential of new international markets and developing them. Tasks of a similar nature now await the former professional ice hockey player.

“I am delighted that we have Malte Seifert back on board at Messe Düsseldorf. He is characterised by a particular drive, which we need for the further development of the trade fair portfolio centred on our quartet of metal trade fairs and decarbXpo, but which we will also utilise in our current internal strategy process to shape our future direction,” comments Bernd Jablonowski, Executive Director at Messe Düsseldorf.

For Malte Seifert, the metals industry is not new territory: at the organiser RX Global, he was most recently responsible for the world’s leading trade fair ALUMINIUM as project manager. This takes place every two years as a guest event at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre – the next edition will be held from 27 to 29 September 2022.
