With GIFA Mexico, taking place from 16 to 18 October 2024 in Mexico City, Messe Düsseldorf is not only opening up a new platform for companies from Mexico and the wider region within the global metallurgy and foundry industry, but is also offering international exhibitors and industry experts a unique opportunity.
Whether it’s world-class international conferences, prestigious awards, high-level discussions with industry experts and politicians, special exhibitions or insights into the latest topics in the lecture forums – at “The Bright World of Metals”, taking place from 12 to 16 June 2023 in Düsseldorf, there will be numerous programme highlights to complement the exhibition featuring over 2,100 exhibitors from 56 countries.
At NEWCAST, foundries from all over the world will be demonstrating the full range of innovative casting processes and products to decision-makers and design engineers. The importance of NEWCAST as an international showcase for the foundry industry is reflected not least in the rising number of exhibitors. Even at this stage, NEWCAST 2023 is already larger than it was in 2019.
Malte Seifert (37) has been the new head of GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST since 1 August. As Project Director, he is responsible not only for the four trade fairs – which will take place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June next year – but also for the seven international editions of Bright World of Metals.

Preparations for the world’s largest technology trade fairs – GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST – are now underway. On 21 February 2022, the Executive Board of the Düsseldorf trade fair quartet held its first meeting.
The countdown is on – companies from all over the world can now register for the quartet of trade fairs: GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST. These leading international trade fairs, featuring a conference and a high-calibre supporting programme for foundry technology, cast products, metallurgy and thermal process technology, will take place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June 2023.
Gerrit Nawracala (46) has been the new Project Director for Metallurgy & Foundry Technologies since 1 September 2020. He will therefore also be in charge of the leading trade fairs GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST, which are due to take place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June 2023.
After five eventful days at the trade fair, “The Bright World of Metals” came to a successful close on Saturday 29 June, having impressively reaffirmed its international leadership as the world’s most important trade fair platform for metallurgy and foundry technology.
The NEWCAST Award is a real highlight of Bright World of Metals: In a festive ceremony, Wolfram Diener, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf, presented the trophies to Impro International Ltd (Hong Kong), DGH Sand Casting Corporate GmbH & Co. KG (Friedrichshafen) and Feinguss Blank GmbH (Riedlingen).
The winners of the international ‘Steel Flies’ competition have been announced: David Kemper, Christian Lipp and Alexander Kubsch from the University of Darmstadt not only secured first place with their flying machine, but also won the Innovation Prize for a particularly ingenious design of their ‘aircraft’.
