Laempe showcases technologies at its first Open Week

Laempe Mössner Sinto hosted its first four-day ‘Open Week’ at its headquarters in Meitzendorf. Around 300 guests gained insights into core production, additive manufacturing, automation and digital solutions for the foundry industry.
First Open Week at the Meitzendorf site
Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH held its first Open Week at its headquarters in Meitzendorf from 23 to 26 June 2026. The company welcomed around 300 guests, including customers, business partners, political representatives and research professionals.
The four-day event combined technology demonstrations with professional discussions and networking. Guests from Europe, the United States, Turkey and India gained insights into the latest developments in the foundry industry. In total, Laempe offered 16 interactive stations and several live presentations.
The focus was on solutions for core and mould making, additive manufacturing, automation, service, machine modernisation and digital technologies. Laempe thus used Open Week as a platform to bring its own portfolio to life at its production site.
The L3D-200 as the highlight of the event
A key technical highlight was the L3D-200 3D printing system. Shortly before Open Week, Laempe had been awarded the Hugo Junkers Prize by the State of Saxony-Anhalt for this system. During the event, guests were able to see the printer in operation, explore potential applications and discuss matters with the engineers and development teams responsible.
The L3D-200 system was developed for the automated large-scale production of sand cores and moulds. It is designed to enable foundries and industrial manufacturers to produce complex core and mould geometries with a high degree of automation. Laempe highlights the printer’s speed, consistent process performance and flexible scalability.
During the event, two L3D-200 machines were showcased, both of which had already been purchased by customers. According to the company, the system is also in use in industrial settings, including at the BMW Group.
Automation, service and digital tools
Alongside the 3D printing system, Laempe showcased a wide range of solutions for the foundry industry. These included automation, service and spare parts, machine modernisation, digital technologies and conventional core production.
Visitors were able to view various core shooting machines in different sizes and configurations. The systems on display represented various process technologies for customer projects worldwide.
Laempe also presented automation concepts developed for international projects. These included solutions for the wind turbine manufacturer Enercon and the motorbike helmet manufacturer Schuberth. Digital tools for process monitoring, data analysis and productivity enhancement rounded off the exhibition programme.
Exchange with industry, politics and the next generation of talent
Open Week was designed not only as a technology showcase but also as a forum for dialogue. The official opening brought together guests from the worlds of business and politics. On 23 June, Stefanie Pötzsch, State Secretary at the Saxony-Anhalt Ministry of Economic Affairs, opened the public day.
Following the opening day, the focus was on client contacts, technical discussions and international exchange. Right up until the end of the event, Laempe’s global sales partners, as well as customers and partners, visited the Meitzendorf site.
On the final day of the event, Laempe opened its doors to students from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. They gained insights into modern industrial technologies and career prospects. The event concluded with an internal staff gathering.
